Good for: Closed slip‑on bangles, openable/hinged bangles, kadas, cuffs

Time to measure: 3–5 minutes

-------------------------

  • If you already own a bangle that fits: measure its inner diameter in centimeters (cm) or inch (in) and match it to the chart below.

  • No bangle at home? Measure your knuckle circumference (the widest part of your hand when you bring thumb to little finger), then pick the nearest bigger circumference from the chart.

  • Openable/hinged bracelet or kada? Measure your wrist circumference (not knuckles) and add 1.5–2.0 cm for a comfy fit.

Pro tip: Measure at the end of the day when your hands are slightly larger. If between sizes, go one size up.

Step 1: Identify Your Style (because sizing depends on it)

  1. Closed slip‑on bangles (most chudas, kangan): must pass over knuckles → size by knuckle circumference or inner diameter of an existing bangle.

  2. Openable/hinged bangles & kadas: open/close around wrist → size by wrist circumference (+ ease).

  3. Cuffs (open‑ended): adjustable → start from wrist circumference; choose a size whose opening comfortably clears your wrist bone.

Method A — Measure a Bangle You Already Have (most accurate for slip‑on)

  1. Lay the bangle flat on a table.

  2. Place a ruler across the widest inside edges and note the inner diameter in cm.

  3. Use the size chart below to find your Indian bangle size (e.g., 2‑6, 2‑8).

Example: inner diameter = 6.03 mm → size 2‑6.

Method B — The Knuckle String Method (no bangle at home)

  1. Bring thumb to little finger, like you’re putting on a bangle.

  2. Wrap a non‑stretch string/paper strip around the widest part of your hand (over knuckles). Mark where it meets.

  3. Measure that length → hand circumference.

  4. Pick the closest larger circumference from the chart and note its size.

Math lovers: Diameter ≈ Circumference ÷ 3.1416. Choose the next size up if you’re between two.

Method C — Openable/Hinged Bangle or Kada (wrist‑first sizing)

  1. Measure wrist circumference at the wrist bone.

  2. Add 1.5–2.0 cm for comfort (more if you like a loose fit or will stack).

  3. Choose the bracelet length closest above your total (or the manufacturer’s listed size).

If the piece is technically a kada but not hinged (i.e., a rigid closed circle), size like a slip‑on bangle using Methods A/B.

(Inner diameter is the key for slip‑on bangles.)

What’s “2‑6”, “2‑8”, etc.? It’s the classic Indian system based on inner diameter in inches. For example, 2‑6 ≈ 2⅜″ ≈ 60.3 mm.

Fit Tips that Make a Big Difference

  • Time of day & weather: Hands swell slightly in the evening and in hot weather—measure when they’re warm for a realistic fit.

  • Knuckles vs. palm: If you have bigger knuckles and slender palms, prioritize knuckle fit; if your palms are fleshy, you may prefer one size up for an easy slide.

  • Bangle width: Wider bangles (or stacked chuda) feel tighter; consider going one size up.

  • Stacking: For multiple thin bangles, pick the largest size among the set so all slide on comfortably.

  • Dominant hand: It’s often slightly larger—measure the hand you’ll wear it on.

  • Between sizes? Go up for comfort & safety (don’t force a bangle over your knuckles!).

Real‑World Examples

  • Your bangle’s inner diameter is 6.5 cm → Closest in chart is 6.67 cm (2‑10), but 6.5 cm often fits as 2‑9/16. If we only stock whole quarter sizes, choose 2‑10.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. My right and left hands give different sizes. Which one is correct?

Measure the hand you’ll wear it on; hands can differ by ~2–4 mm.

Q. Will pregnancy or weather change my size?

Yes—expect swelling. If you’re shopping for a bridal chura, choose a slightly larger size.

Q. Can you convert from inches to mm yourself?

Yes—1 inch = 25.4 mm. Diameter (mm) × 3.1416 ≈ circumference (mm).

Q. What if my size is not listed (e.g., 2‑5/16)?

We can often custom‑order intermediate sizes. Message us on WhatsApp +91 9034105777.

Q. Is a bracelet size the same as a bangle size?

No. Bracelet length (for flexible/openable designs) is based on wrist circumference + ease; bangle size is based on inner diameter because it must pass your knuckles.
